Keep our Bedfordshire Roads Safe

Clophill Footbridge keeps pedestrians away from traffic. I can’t see how anyone can possibly think that removing the existing footbridge and adding pedestrian crossings will ease congestion. They may indeed have plans to widen lanes in and off the roundabout, but if the lights on crossings keep bringing traffic to a halt the queues will be longer at peak times, not shorter.

If they are making the road beneath the existing bridge wider then we need to make the bridge wider too.
